It give a brief (although it is still quite long) discussion of the life of this great Gnostic, who was very nearly Pope. It also includes an analysis of his teachings and works, although very briefly.

Just imagine if this great man had indeed become Pope, he would certainly have sent modern Christianity in a totally diferent direction.

This may sound bad, but i'm almost glad that he wasn't pope, because then people would mess up gnostics like they have with christianity (i mean with all their crusades and "in the name of God" messes, wrong translations of the Bible, and misenterperated sayings...).... It could have killed the whole religion... But to have a Gnostic almost pope is very neat~

Well, our religion was killed off. But i think Gnosticism did have an impact on orthodox Christianity, more than modern christians would like to admit anyway.
