In 2004 and 2005, Gnosticism caught my attention, so I have read some of those texts from the Nag Hammadi codices, especially from the Nag Hammadi Library by James M. Robinson.
My main interest was Sophia and the Gnostic version of the Creation, so I went through The Apocryphon of John, The Hypostasis of the Archons, On the Origin of the World and The Gospel of the Egyptians. The Gospel of Thomas, and that of The Gospel of Mary was also very interesting. My personal favorite is the Hymn of the Pearl, but it was left out in this volume, probably because it was already covered in the New Testament Apocrypha. |

I think the admin, should create a separate section for Gnosticism. There are enough people here, who would take interest in Gnosticism. That way, we break down one long topic into smaller ones. But I''ve only been here for a very short time. Is there a forum for gnosticism, here?

Yes, that's a difficult one.
There is so many different way to view Gnosticism: pagan, Judaic and Christian Gnosticisms. I think most gnostics here are in the last category, though I tends to view gnosticism as a whole, instead of individual sect or category. |
