A concept which has always interested me is the age of the Sun....if God did indeed create the Universe, did he deliberately create a Sun which would eventually consume (maybe) the Earth? or is this evidence that Science is the only explanation of the universe? I am one as you may know from other posts on this forum to say that science and religion can coexist, however this is a subject which I am yet to decide on.
The following is some information on this:- Quote:

Scripture says that, because of sin, this world is subject to decay and death. When the problem, sin, is resolved, I suggest potential dangers to the longevity of the earth (i.e., the sun and the earth being subject to decay) will likewise be resolved. That's part of the fun of belonging to an eschatologically minded religion!

either way, this is so far in the future that we can invoke visions which are fantastic at large.

Not only will we likely be living on other planets by then, our very species WILL be extinct by then.

Unless I misread, I was under the impression that within the Bible, it's stated that the earth will go up in flames. Whether the sun engulfes us, we're bombed by meteors or we blow each other up with nukes...science is kind of tucked and folded into the lot of it.

Nonono, quite the opposite! I'm saying that the earth will be preserved from destruction because God has promised that he will transform creation one day so that it is filled with love, life, and justice. He won't allow the earth to be destroyed.
