We have a family tradition of watching the movie "Christmas Vacation" I enjoy watching it every time I see it....we all sit and laugh like we did the first time we ever saw it. I love the scene where Clark is in the department store and his son walks up while he is looking at Mary, the sales clerk's panties.....

I do laugh when I hear atheists say they dont celebrate Christmas because they are atheist. There is so much more to Christmas than the religious side. I know many many atheists (including my family) who go all out at Christmas time - they love it, being with your family, the magic of it all, kids enjoying themselves and playing! It is sooo much fun!!!

So no, you are not weird and about 80% of atheists are right there with you!

As an atheist, Xmas is a bit of an enigma to me. Yes, it can be fun to see kids get toys, but by and large, I think as a whole, Xmas is a negative event. It stresses many of the wrong things - materialism, greed, overspending, and families often suffer financially for a long time after the giftwrapping is thrown way. Is it worth it? TO most, I guess yes, but I usually have an empty feeling when Xmas is over.
