I know that some Muslim women are more modern and liberal than others. It is matter of choice for them to wear or not wear the hijab or not. I have seen some who wear modern clothings. I supposed is where you are brought up. The more conservative would wear them.
Well, this is not about hijab or any other head dresses. I know that it is important for some women and girls to even cover their ankles, let alone their calves. My questions are these: Do some Muslim society or community forbid women to wear trousers or something similar? If so, why? Is it because they shouldn't dress like a man? Or does it reveal too much the shapes of their legs even they are decently covered?

Women dressed in tight, figure hugging clothing also fall in this category. b) Women who wear high buns on the head are those whose heads appear to be like the hump of a camel. |

My sister wear all that, and jeans as well, but she wear it under her full hijab. She can put down her hijab when she go party with her "female" friends in their houses for instance, but she doesn't show these clothes to males.
On the other hand, other muslim women "who try to observe their modesty" do wear them but they make sure it's not tight, short, or transperant, etc.

Thanks, TashaN. I was just curious. I didn't think any would wear something transparent, or short.

You are most welcome.
![]() By the way, my mom was telling me that in their time when she was young, along with her sisters, their elder brothers were forbidding them from wearing these things, but it was a cultural issue, not an islamic one, but she told me that some of her sisters were wearing it anyway even when they were afraid that others will condemn them for doing so. Now it's fine of course for my mom to see that her daughter is wearing what she couldn't wear when she was in her age. ![]()

You will find Muslim women wear hijab in different styles around the globe according to their culture and taste.
Muslim women in Pakistan has a different style than Muslim women in say Jordan than Muslim women in Saudi Arabia...etc. Even inside the one culture you can find different styles. Islam doesn't tell you what color or style you should wear but the certain conditions that you should fulfill like to cover from the head to toe except face and hands, loose clothes...etc.

Do you or tasha ever wear trousers or pants? Tasha mentioned her sister, but not herself.

Trousers won't work for a Muslim woman who wants to wear hijab because as you know one of the conditions is to cover the body from head to feet except the face and hands.
I prefer wearing skirts. ![]()
