My father for the last 10 or so years has followed the teachings of The Course of Miracles. I have my own opinion concerning this group, but would like to get your opinion on their teachings.

There's a wiki article on it. A Course in Miracles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It just seems like a run-of-the-mill quasi-Christian movement, with a plagiarized work and a few followers.

Actually, for the brief time period after being Catholic but before becoming an atheist, I attended a non-denomination Christian church, and the pastor there incorporated some of the same things that the Course of Miracles does. It kinda reminded me of like some Christian influenced Eastern religion, but the hero of the story wasn't Buddha or Confucius but none other than Jesus Christ himself.
I dunno...just another "religion" with a few things altered here and there. It seems like the religion is spreading a little bit though. Christianity sure has been changing a lot lately hasn't it? I wonder if Christians from the 12th and 13th centuries would even call these new Christian sects Christian at all?

I put it in the same category as "The Secret" - a kernel of truth wrapped in a self-help package encouraging people to learn how to revel in their delusions, rather than gain insight into themselves. People spend a lot of money on that stuff these days.
There's a bunch of Oprah groupies into this, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the replies and links. I'm going to hold off for a while on my opinion and let others comment.
