"
And I'm amused that while people who readily accept the notion that science evolves, reject the notion that religious concepts do." Evolve which way, is the question, as in evolution things can deteriorate over time.

They change, but do not progress. There is never any well-established theory that everyone can agree on, so that we can go on to learn new things. Rather the same questions remain unanswered, such as, is there a God? If so, what is his/her nature, relationship to us, etc.

Although it may be that it just looks this way from our perspective, because our ability to look tapers off at both ends. No way to know, really.

Sure, Voice, religion, like all memes, is constantly evolving, spawning new sects and religions, old ones dying out, etc. Don't you agree? In the 19th century U.S. a new variation of Christianity evolved out of the old one. It has proven to be remarkably successful, due to emphasis on recruiting new converts, large families, early indoctrination, and positive results for its adherents, such as strong community. Religions evolve, they just don't advance knowledge.

I agree, Rolling Stone, the Bible has evolved and changed dramatically over its long life.
