I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I wish I could respect your position. You just haven't come up with a valid arguement that your god exists outside of your imagination. Your "commendable practices in your god's eyes" reminds me of how a parent tells thier kids to be good because Santa is watching. (Sorry kids, don't want to ruin anything, but there is no Santa. Just pretend to believe in him and fool your parents into getting you more presents like I did.)

First of all, the topic at hand is not to prove the existence of God or Santa. It's about why people worship. If you want, you can look up my posts concerning the evidence of God.

This is why I reject Pascal's wager. If a god wanted my worship, and yet created my personality, my mind, and my logic to reject his existence, that either means one of three things, he did so by accident, he wanted my disbelief, or he is a sadistic god that does things for no reason.

No, read the thread title. It's called "Why Worship Anything?" and I am just giving a reason why I don't think there is a reason to worship. And hey, I think I WILL look up your god evidence posts. I think I will find them...amusing.

We worship because society has told us to worship and it is written in the books that society respect that we must worship. So, get in line and worship like society wants. You don't want to be looked down upon by anyone, do you?
