why do you need any special place for worship?
Whats special about places of worship? Why can't we have one place of worship at any local community for people of any faiths to worship, and save valuable money? Do we find enlightened people in places of worship? |

Since it is unclear whether GOD is Holy/Sacred/Divine or deserves/requires/desires worship, it seems that the members who congregate to these places may be there for the express purpose of worshipping themselves.

I don't need one, really. I just like the community and the idea of people coming together to learn and discuss ideas, support each other, and do good for the community. Whats special about places of worship? The relationships and other personal elements probably make it special. Someone used to a certain church or liturgy might feel fond of certain forms of worship and places of worship. Why can't we have one place of worship at any local community for people of any faiths to worship, and save valuable money? Some churches are non-denomination. The Unitarian Universalist congregations include members of various religions, so some congregations actually do this. There isn't anything wrong with that. On the other hand, people also like traditions they are familiar with. It is important for all traditions to respect each other. Do we find enlightened people in places of worship? Sometimes. James |

The actual building of a Catholic Church is very special. Foremost, because of the altar and the tabernacle. Because Catholics believe in the literal transformation of bread and wine into the body/blood/soul/divinity of Jesus Christ, these places are very sacred. On the altar is where this miracle takes place daily and the tabernacle is what houses the remaining hosts. Therefore, we can visit Jesus Christ in a very literal way and thus, makes our Churches very special places, indeed.
