Quote of an Ensign Article out of the Institute manual for Eternal Marriage -

“When we sing that doctrinal hymn . . . ‘O My Father,’ we get a sense of the ultimate in maternal modesty, of the restrained, queenly elegance of our Heavenly Mother, and knowing how profoundly our mortal mothers have shaped us here, do we suppose her influence on us as individuals to be less?” (Ensign, May 1978, p. 6.)

HEre is another refrence of a talk mentioning her. Given by the young women general president.

“They always say something must happen in your life so you want to change. Well, that something has happened. I still have a long way to go. I finally realized that my Father in Heaven is on my side, even though I have betrayed him in a way. I am trying awfully hard to get my life in order and do what is right. I am bound and determined to, no matter how long it takes—but it is so hard. I just wish of all things I could go up and give Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother a big hug and tell them that I made it back.”

If a bishop wants to call me in his office and "chat" with me about what i say i suggest he do a little research before assuming that we do not already teach that we HAVE a heavenly mother.

Excuse me, but where did I say I don't believe that God has a wife or that I have a Mother in Heaven? Didn't you even read my post? I said we were instructed by Jesus Christ to pray to our Father in Heaven, not to our Mother and Father. It is our Father in Heaven who answers our prayers, not our Mother in Heaven.

It totally is, and i have hearb bishops and stake presidents, Relief society presidents and general Relief Society president talk about our Heavenly Mother.

And have they said we are to pray to Her? I don't think so.

Don't tell me it's not doctrinal when we teach it to our primary children.

We don't teach our Primary children to pray to their Mother in Heaven and we don't teach them that She answers our prayers. We teach them that they are sons and daughters of Heavenly Parents. You've got to know where to draw the line.

You're something else. Nowhere did I say that we don't have a Heavenly Mother. Do you just glance at someone's post before you reply? I suggest you actually read my posts before assuming that I have said something I haven't.

I never said we pray to her, But I am very sure she Gives him advice for us. I'm sure he listens to her.... God doesn't get stuff done by himself. I;m sure his wife helps just as much "Equal Partners" ect...

I never suggested praying to her.

but God is indeed both Husband And Wife.

Evidently, the First Article of Faith needs to be amended to say, "We believe in God the Eternal Father, in His Wife the Eternal Mother, in their Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost." Why don't you just forward that suggestion on to President Monson?
