For some of them yes. It's scary how some theists i've met take the bible as law. I find it hard to reason with them, some people need to understand that not everyone can just 'believe' as everything requires proof. Also religious scripture is a major hurdle. It cannot be taken as law or even reliable, do you know who wrote it? How do you know they wrote it? Which sources prove they wrote it? As a history student i've always been taught that proof cannot come from one source.

To base a world view off beliefs that are not factual could distort your view of reality. Also to base you logical reasoning off these same questionable beliefs could produce some very inaccurate results. It's all well and good if the beliefs are true. But even if one of the beliefs are untrue than the conclusion and perception of reality could become askew.

All theist view a world with God or Gods if there are no Gods at all then they have a inaccurate take on things. But beyond that it is not uncommon for a theist or theistic group to base a set of beliefs on that singular belief that there is a God or Gods. While those beliefs may follow a logical line with a God or Gods included. The whole system is way off if there is no such thing as Gods.
