As far as anyone having to be celibate in the church that was added later as well. Peter is said to be the first Pope yet he was married. But there has to be groups that forbid people to marry now because the Bible says there will be-

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

As for the priests I admit I am not an expert in any languages, I just meant that there is no one that goes before God and makes sacrifices for us when we sin. Jesus did that once so there is a new priesthood that is better than the one in the old testament. Jesus himself is the high priest and the sacrifice. But even those priests in the old testament times had wifes.
