Maybe there are more people who are openly gay, but I wouldn't say there are more people who are gay. Fewer gay people will hide the fact that they are gay when it is more culturally accepted. I don't think you can control which gender you are sexually attracted to.

I would suggest that those who claim to be Christian and yet are so stinking intolerant need to rethink their commitment to LOVE. There's definitely an increase in the number of gay people willing to be out in public and open and honest about who they love and their lives. And yes, there are more gay people, but there are also more straight people. The population is increasing on all fronts.
