While I admire your skepticism, that would hold any authority in question, that would also necessarily call into question the authority who suggests that the Mithraism cult of Rome has anything to do with the Persian God Mithra.

I believe that anything is possible but I do not believe that Christianty came from the Mithraism cult. I do believe that the story of Jesus is a mixture of different Pagan Gods. In truth most of what we know can be called into question, we are talking about some 2,000 plus years ago that all this happanded & none of us were there at best it's a guess at best. We're going by what archaeologist have found & even they tend to be baised to support thier theories.

Personally, I believe that the story of Jesus reflects the stories of a number of Pagan gods because they are all representing a similar thing.

For since Mithras is the same as fire, it manifestly answers to the fire of which Isaiah speaks. And since Justin reminded them who are initiated, that they are said to be initiated by Mithras himself, it was not necessary to remind them that the words of Isaiah are imitated in this: “You shall see the King with glory.” Bread and water are referred to by Isaiah: so also in these mysteries of Mithras, Justin testifies that bread and a cup of water are placed before them (Apol. i.)
