It was a cold calculation and the bomb offered victory for fewer casualties as compared to invasion. The Manhattan Project was so far behind, it only caught up after the Battle of Berlin, when Germany surrendered in May 1945, hereafter did the Project produce their first
atomic bomb 'trinity' at Los Alamos in July 1945, you can see how close these dates are, almost as if the Americans copied the Germans blueprints, they did!!

Hitler vs Bush:

Both Started Illegal Wars of Aggression claiming their nations were in Danger.

Both used emergency decrees to introduce draconian patriot acts.

Both ignored the UN/League of Nations.

Both Refused to Negotiate With others they deem as Enemies.

Both saw enemies everywhere.

Both built Police States and Homeland Security offices.

Both started multi-front wars with no end.

Both were Flag wavers and Patriots.

Both built concentration camps.

Both were fans of Waterboarding and Torture.

Both hated the French.

Both believed in and talked to God.

Both lied about the war, using terrorism to spur the people on, Hitler had the Reichstag fire, POLAND; Bush used 9/11, and mushroom clouds.

Both put military pressures on the boarders of Russia.

Both believed in World Order.

Both made friends with the rich while stealing from the poor.

Both built Bunkers.

Both betrayed their people.
