From AmericaFreePress.net, check out this article about a report published by the State Dept. from its branch the "Office of Global Anti-Semitism".
NewAnti-Semitism This is not unexpected for those of us who've been paying attention, but it is still vaguely shocking. What will the response of Christians be? |

I don't see how the NT could be anti-semitic, since Mary and Joseph were Jewish, Jesus was Jewish, all 12 apostles were Jewish, all the disciples were Jewish, Mary, Martha and Lazarus were Jewish, and I would go on but I think I made the point (or at least I hope so).

Supersessionism (historically promoted by the RCC )insisted that since “the Jews” were cursed by God to homeless wandering because of Jesus’ crucifixion, they had lost any claim upon the Land of Israel.... this type of thinking ended "officially" in 1965 with Vatican II. "We must do all that we can to turn awareness of past offenses and sins into a firm resolve to build a new future in which there will be nothing but respectful and fruitful cooperation between (Jews, Christians and Muslims)." John Paul II - Address at the Jerusalem Interreligious Meeting with Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau and Sheik Taysir Tamimi I pray that no one who reads that article uses it as an excuse to promote hatred. Peace, Scott

Er, isn't the point that Jews are now demonizing Christians, not the other way around? Did you read the content of the article, where it equated the NT of Christians to an Anti-Semitic almanac?

Again... this is nothing new.... some Jews complain every year about Christian "Passion Plays" at Easter.... and some Jews are persecuted by Christians who read the NT and believe it "instructs" them to be anti-Semetic... you can't stop all the nuts, just pray for peace.

I suppose, using the same logic, this makes the Book of Mormon anti-native American since the wicked Lamanites killed off all the righteous Nephites. I don't believe that was the intention of the authors of either book, but it could be twisted that way.

i never thought the jews put jesus on the cross, it is clear in the gospels that a roman had him put on the cross, not a jew or the jews. the jews were quite fond of jesus in his time as is clear from the gospel narrative of his entrance into the city for passover before he is captured by the romans. but it seeems to me that the branches of religion that formed from the abrahamic tradition seem to like pointing fingers at each other rather than realizing they have the same core belifs within the teachings of their prophets. i guess hate is easier than love for those without understanding. wa peace

Are you denying the State Dept. report exists? You can check the veracity of the article quite easily, I think.
