An antisemitic book written by Jewish believers in the Messiah? Very paradoxical.

Epistle to Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Epistle to Romans 9:2-5 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Epistle to Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

How hateful,

Certain Jewish leaders did incite the crowd to have Jesus crucified. But saying that can hardly be viewed as anti-semitic. The event had to do with class and power dynamics, not ethnic hatred. In fact, ethnic hatred makes no sense since both the "bad guys" and "good guys" in the story were Jewish.

I do agree that having attended a conservative Lutheran school for five years, the stories were told to us in such a way as to suggest that the Jews had been chosen by God but were unfortunately too stupid/immoral to maintain the relationship, turning from Him repeatedly and culminating in the final failure, the crucifixion of His Son whom He sent to save them. So it was up to good Christians to take up where the Jews failed.

But I don't think this was inherent in the text so much as certain people - my teachers - choosing to interpret the events that way.

Every nation has things they can or ought to be ashamed of. Other nations pointing that out is not anti-that nation. If I say the US should never have attacked Iraq, am I anti-American? Not necessarily. I might be a patriotic American who is disgusted and sorrowful over what my government has done.

If I point out that Jesus was handed over to Roman authorities because the Jewish leaders found him guilty of blasphemy but couldn't kill him on their own, is this anti-Semitic? Is it anti-Semitic to say, as Jesus did, that the Kingdom would be taken from them and given to others (the Gentiles) because they had failed in their divine vocation? If so, then many Jews throughout their history have been anti-Semitic (the Essenes, the Pharisees, the Zealots, the list goes on).

Random, I am still wondering if you have actually checked on the veracity of the claims made in this article. I went to the State Dept web site and found that there is actually no such thing as “the Office of Global Anti-Semitism”. And I have not been able to find any such report. I am not saying that there is no such report, only that I have not been able to find it. Have you found it? Have you looked?

Also this article describes several claims made by the ADL, but always paraphrasing and never quoting. There are no references, no footnotes, nothing whatsoever that you could look up and check.

Ted Pike has gone on the record claiming that September 11 was the result of a Jewish conspiracy. He makes reference in this article to the “Jewish dominated media”. Doesn’t this raise some red flags for you?

Ah, so it wasn't just my conservative Lutheran teachers. Some Anglicans believe this too.

Too bad. Not sure it counts as "anti-semitic" but it's definitely a self-serving pat on the back at the expense of otherss. Given that so many Christians have failed to display the values taught by Jesus, who will God give the Kingdom to next?
