Default Prayers

Why should God answer your petty little day to day prayers when there are people, many millions of people on this world dying of disease, war and malnutrition?

With an omnipotent and omniscient God, why does it matter what other issues there may be?

I dont care about God's rational...He certainly doesn't omni answer prayers.

I wonder how people can pray for themselves or their family, like Dear God may I get that job I want or Dear God help us get the money for that car we need...seems rather selfish, when there are people with rather more pressing and urgent prayers to be answered, seems perverse to me.

Why is it selfish? The well isn't limited, no one is asking for something as opposed to help for someone else(unless that is what they are doing, and then maybe I could see your point).

are you to judge what is and isn't important to someone ?
people pray for things they find important,
since prayer looks like it doesn't do anything you might as well just pray only for the things you find important

Whether God's mercy is limitless or not is debateable, I just can't see how people in western nations can pray for anything with a straight face knowing how like over fed ticks they already are..pray for the end of hunger and suffering caused by human indifference and greed.

I judge that the petty concerns of well fed healthy westerners are nothing to compared to the majority of the global population...Judged condemmed and passing sentence...

Why not both? As I said one prayer is not opposed to another...

I think you will find they are...If I pray for more wealth or a better house there are only so many houses and a finite amount of wealth in the world, what you gain someone else loses.
