I believe life has whatever meaning you wish to assign it.

Using the chocolate analogy, chocolate usually melts because it's been put into the hot mouth of a creature that is consuming it. The same is true of people and of everything else - we're all eaten away be it by time, or by cancer, disease, maybe even a big shark if you're lucky. We're all subject to an extremely hostile universe, as destructive as it is creative.
Life is a happy accident of nature, very brief and constantly at risk of being mashed up in the mechanical workings of the greater universe. There is no defined meaning to life given it by the cosmos, it's essentially pointless and insignificant, however considering life's brevity and it's inevitable (probably violent and painful) conclusion we might as well make the most of it while it does exist, to give ourselves a purpose and meaning before such a unique experience falls back into the ever gaping maw of Oblivion.

Nah, pretty sure it's just the solar radiation heating up the molecules in the chocolate, changing it from a solid to liquid state. That's why Florida kids eat M&M's, melts on the asphalt, not in your pocket. Though in Florida anything melts on the asphalt.......
Though I suppose life only has as much meaning as the actions you take and put into motion in it.
