Well than i will only say that yo run for the hill and i marry 4 wives, It is not a must to marry more than once but we have the permission of doing that. We dont have any problems with our Mother in laws

And if your (1st) wife oppose to you about take other wives?

Would abide by her wish and not marry others?

Do you ignore her and marry other women?

Or do you beat her until she agree with you?

What rights do your 1st wife would have? Does she have a say in the matter or not?

I don't give a crap about your rights to marry more than one woman. I'm far more concern about the women involved in such matters, because as I can see, there are no benefits for the women involved. Islam seemed to be created out of sick fantasy of your so-called prophet, not because of divine will.

Since God has given me permission to take another wife, my Wife should not deny this right for me. However, if she has stated when she was married to me that during her lifetime i cannot take another wife, than i cant marry another one untill she allows me, we cant ignore. However, as a good Muslim husband if i knew that marrying a second wife would make the first wife unhappy I would not take a second wife as taught by most scholars.

However, there are cases when the first wife finds a second wife for her husband and the first and second wives find a third wife, then the 1st, 2nd, 3rd wives find the 4th wife for thier husband and if the husband is just there cannot be a problem. My great grand father had 2 wives, the 2 wives were childhood best friends (my great grand mothers)they lived happlily

even for a non-muslim i think this thread's pretty ridiculous/prejudiced.

if you can't understand their religion than don't complain about it. seriously...it's not much different from christianity. at least they have rules. and why does everyone go on about the four wife thing. they're allowed to have four wifes (four i think?) so that the man doesn't cheat on his wife.

look at what happens in our society...the majority of people cheat, the divorce rate is 50%+, cheating isn't much different. i'm pretty sure modern muslims don't actually marry four people though.

Would some Muslim husbands ignored wives' wishes? Has that been known to happen, where a husband would marry another, regardless if the wife is against it?

Oh, I understand it. I know how to accept the delusion. I was a Muslim once too. I have my problems with Christianity too, but those still pale in comparison. At least the vast majority of Christians have at least progressed into modern times...for the most part. As for the cheating thing, sure that's a great reason! Men will cheat, so have them marry the women they would cheat on so it's not cheating anymore!

Yeah, modern society is pretty messed up, but as far as modernity goes, Islam has far more setbacks than advances.
