Imagine the world as we see it today, got to where it was without any kind of religion being involved. By that I mean everything is exactly as it is now... just you've never heard of organised religion, God, Jesus or anything remotely religious.
Now imagine a film was made that contained the entirity of the Bible. It's advertised everywhere, there's a lot of hype about it. It starts at Genesis and ends at Revelations. What do you think the reaction of critics and viewers alike would be to this film? I personally think a lot would leave thinking, "WTF? I don't get it". |

Many would be gone before Deuteronomy.

I'd wait for it on DVD, and skip to Revelations.

I'm thinking of doing that and getting my head shaved so I look like Kane from C&C...

I believe that "...God, the first principle and last end of all things, can be known with certainty from the created world by the natural light of human reason." and so this "film" would probably be viewed as an explaination of many things that people knew in their heart and the truth and happiness we have been searching for would be elightened.

It'd probably be viewed as a cross between an epic fantasy and postmodernist deliberately-obtuse piece, assuming postmodernist art and epic fantasy would have arisen without religion.
