Well, Schrodinger tells us to finalize the state of being of the cat by looking in the box. Trying to finalize what God is is more difficult. First, you have no idea where to look for the box. Second, if you could find it, it won't open.

I think it may as well be. We know "God" as at least a concept. And concepts act as influential powers because we give them power.

Especially when studying them as an influence in history, because we can define the concept and what we will look for in terms of that concept, and evaluate the reactions of people to that concept.

True. This comes from St Tomas Aquinas, who argues that since God cannot have potentiality like contingent things, he must consist purely of action. God is love that acts.

God is a force in the sense that the concept of god is physiological and forces people to do things that normal people wouldn't, if that's what you mean?

For me it really depends as I believe in 2 different levels of Gods or divinity rather. The first level is that I believe that all the Gods of all the religions that are and have been exist. These Gods are spirit beings. Their souls have evolved so that they no longer require a body in order to evolve further and I view them much in the same way the ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, etc. viewed their Gods. Very powerful but still having many human traits and thus subject to human emotions and faults and thus are just as capable of love, compassion, and wisdom as they are of corruption deciet, and jealousy. These Gods I view as our teachers and mentors whose job is to guide us on our spiritual journies. And just like classroom teachers there are good ones and bad ones and mediocre ones and the same teaching methods don't work on every student. Hence why there are so many different God's and religions. The second level of Gods that I believe in are forces. These consist of Love, Hate, Justice, corruption... any emotion, feeling, subjective or objective concept all exist as different forces that are within and without everything including the secondary Gods. They make up our souls and are responsible not just for the creation but the very existence of the universe and everything in it. So for me the Gods are both beings and forces. as beings they are teachers and as forces they are creators and mantainers
