Ok, I see what you mean. I didn't mean it like you took it either and I agree with you I was trying to make a simple point not a scientific one and I would be happy to do the research if I had the time. Believe me when I tell you the truth is the most important thing to me, not my truth or your truth but The Truth, I feel it is necessary for our species to survive and grow.

As a Baha'i, I believe the Day has already come and gone!

Due to a mistranslation, the Biblical phrase was translated "end of the world" when in fact it meant "end of the Age" (both are legitimate translations of the Greek "eras")!

And the end of the Age came as prophesied about a century and a half ago.

Please note that this had no huge physical effect on the universe generally or the world in particular! Religion has progressed, and life goes on.

Well, from a biblical view... (I'll be brief...)

There are a couple views as to rapture (as it is non specific as to when)
Basicly 7 year period called "tribulation" first half good, second half bad. Global earthquakes and other goodies. At some point in there the true believers go 'poof' and go to heaven. (I say true meaning that going to church doesn't warrant inclusion) Then God comes down with a iron rod and a tatoo on his thigh, with heaven's army and throws satan in a pit and rules on earth in peace for a 1000 years. Then lets satan out, and satan gathers armies from around the world and attacks God and then big bloody battle, God wins. Earth and heaven are destroyed, by fire of course, and then he makes new, better heavens and earth. And it's good and stuff.

If you would like a more verbose explaination with bible refrences and historical prophecy links I'd be glad to help, but I have a habbit of posting 3 page posts so I'm cutting back... But please don't hesistate to ask.

There is not much point in the end of the world if we, and the world, is still here, is there? I suspect this reply will receive some scriptures, but don't be too hard with them on me. I don't take to mass scripture quotes well.

What was affected in this world materially, and what was affected in this world on a metaphysical basis?
