Which brings up the question: what is ownership? I say it is an emotional attachment, which is certainly true in terms of "I." And, ownership is relationship.

Agreed that it's relationship. I would say it is a type of relationship involving identification with an object, though not necessarily emotional. Through the things we own, we define our identity.

The idea that we "own" our relationship is a relationship not shared by everyone; Hindus, for example.
