This refers to children and any other google search for conginital heart defects of holes in the heart seem to suggest that if it doesn't close by itself in infancy then it will not and surgery, when called for, is the option. I do not know how definitive this is though.

What makes it hard to pin it down to the power of prayer is it's also possible he was misdiagnosed and test results have been known to get mixed up.

From the studies on the healing power of prayer I have seen, no group statistically sticks out. So one possibility is prayer has no effect. Ther other possibility is that God hurts a Christian for every Christian he heals.

Kindly understand that science is a function of the mind.
Existence is flowing when the same mind is at rest.
To understand existence the mind cannot be used.
Therefore the powers of prayers/meditation cannot be scientifically explained/understood but one can have a realisation of that through his own experience only, if any.

Yes, it is very difficult for most people to understand what I say.
Ofcourse you would like to know why.
It is because of the realisation that mind itself is the satan and to win over the devil is to transendent it. Having done so, feel one with everything in this universe. The *I* has given way to *WE* and see things from that stand point.
Debates/arguments/discussions mostly come out of the MIND rarely from the very being of a person. Those that cxome out of the mind as have explained is endless cause it lives in the past or future and never in the present.
Aasimar, mind cannot be used to understand the mind itself.
All religions or paths or ways are trying to lead man to that same place where man drops his ego/mind and becomes a part of this vast endless begingless existence.
If ever you have any question coming out of your being, you will find the answere too coming out of its own accord. That is difficult to understand [again from the mind perspective]
