Jesus the one true Avatar (incarnation, creation, prophet, experience)

Hinduism has many Avatars were Brahmann came to deliver a message for us, Nickelodean has Avatar: the last airbender. But the reason Jesus is the true and only Avatar is because man has only one thing seperating him from God, it's not ignorance of this worlds supposed non-existance; it's sin. It only has one solution: one sacrifice made from before the beginning of time but manifest at the appropriate time in the world's history. The other true messangers are prophets and angels but not incarnations of God or any form of God. For anyone else considered an Avatar the question is: why? What have they done? What did they say that was so inspired?

Actually, the avatars are of Vishnu, and they didn't come to just deliver messages. They came to save the world.

You do realize, I hope, that you're listing a cartoon in this comparison between Jesus and Krishna and Rama, etc. Some people in the U.S., who get paid to make up stories for kiddies so that advertisers can show their commercials, took the word Avatar from Hindu culture and elemental symbolism from Chinese culture, mixed it together and made some schlock up.

As I said, all the avatars of Vishnu incarnated in order to save the world, just like Jesus. As to what they did specifically, that's more than can fit in a forum post. I only know Krisna's and Rama's stories and they are epics. If you really want to know (as opposed to just arguing that only Jesus is God) then you'll have to find the stories from someone else. Just please don't find it from corporate tv.

IF Jesus is an avatar, then Jesus is not God.Can you deal with that comfortably?

In Hindu thought the Godhead is beyond human understanding to make Himself comprehensible to Creation the avatar passes through to Creation representing some aspect or aspects of the Godhead. The avatar is a limitation not for God's benefit but for our benefit.

I would say that Krishna is god. He is just not all that God can be. (Unless you're ISKON.) But I agree that the avatar concept may be hard for many Christians to deal with.

In trying to prove that Jesus is the only true avatar, sonic, you are also conceding that Jesus has limitations. Perhaps you should read up on what an avatar is.

As far as I know tv is just as valid as any other source, I don't mean everything that every supposed avatar did, just what struck you as the most signifigant. What stands out the most in your mind.

Isn't an Avatar an incarnation of God? If not then I have the wrong definition.

Jesus limited himself in some senses, he experienced pain, fatigue, ect. Why are you saying you agree with something I never said? Isn't the basic idea of an Avatar an incarnation of God? Would it be called something else if it didn't have limitations?

There were alot of diffrent Avatars, hinduism is very diverse with alot of diffrent sects, some avatars are considered to be of Vishnu, some of Kali ect.

You were citing an example of an "avatar" that was MADE UP by some ad agency. Just because they use the same word does not mean it really is an avatar.

We're not saying that you really agree with something you never said. We're saying that *if* you truly accept Jesus as an avatar of God, then these are the things that you're agreeing to. In other words, you should look into what the word avatar means.
