^_^ If your a Chaote like me yes, but that a whole nether thing. The only thing I know about Avatars is that the are beings born like humans, and grow up but have a special thing about them that let them save the world(no not talking about the TV show ether), this is how it was explained to me.

They're not always born as humans. The first three avatars of Vishnu were animals, and the fourth was a lion-human hybrid. Avatars are gods incarnated into form so that we can interact with them. Scott said it well. And they do so in order to save the world. The only reason why they incarnate is because the world needs saving.

There are a lot of similarities between the Hindu concept of avatar and the Christian concept of Jesus, Christ. But there are differences too. Whatever his intent, Sonic started an interesting and worthwhile discussion.

Ask most educated Hindus "How many gods are there?"

The answer will be: "One".

By this reasoning Krshna is an avatar of the Godhead. As is Vishnu, or Ganesh, or Kali, or SIva or any of the "gods".

Ganesh and and Kali are not avatars. They are gods, devas. Yes, all devas are manifestations of the One God, Brahman, but that doesn't make them avatars of Brahman.

Or, put another way, if all the devas are avatars, then so are we.

You're picking a nit's nit here, and trying to draw a distinction that does not really exist.

As to the last sentence--that's a serious non sequitur.
