Are we on the verge of a planetary cleansing? (Earth, beliefs)

This prediction was made 21 years ago from someones "spirit guide":

Well mans cruelty to man has certainly accelerated, but what this "guide" goes on to say is that individuals with lower vibratory rates (those who resist the changes) will be removed during the next two decades. (By 2005).

Does any one here believe this kind of thing? How will these people be removed do you think?

That sort of thing makes me sad. People believe that, and when it doesent happen, they look like idiots. If they are removed, god will all put them in a huge polythene box then he will zap that box to cinders, this is what i think for real.

Everything moves in cycles. There is some merit to the OP, in the sense that many people share a common intuition related to the end of ages and a shift in planetary consciousness. The details, @ our laymans level, are vague and kept secret by others.

Paul, it doesn't help your thread that Sunstone (predictably perhaps) has started a comedy thread ("Planetary Wedgie...") in the joke section to mock it.

I seriously doubt that Phil's intention was to mock this thread. It is just not in his nature to make fun of others for the beliefs they hold.

The planet is going to change. It is not a cleansing, in fact there are many beings here doing everything they can to save as many as possible, it is a change that has been scheduled since the beginning of this planet's formation. The earth will move into a higher dimension, some legends predict it will happen in 2012 (Mayans) but only God knows exactly when.

How will the people be removed? Uh, how do you think?

Have you read Earth Abide's by George Stewart. A fiction/sci-fi look on the demise of the modern human population based more on the concept of maxing out the limits of Earth's capacity to support the human population.

It's a bit dry for most but interesting.

But no, I do not think there is a planetary cleansing coming about. I do not the planet can be "healed" or "harmed". Earth is just Earth regardless of climate conditions we find convenient.

As natural resources are depleted, and an ever-increasing world population vies for an ever-decreasing supply of them, wars, famine and starvation will be the inevitable result. This is neglecting the effects of global warming, which will become more pronounced as time goes by.
