If one needs to follow Jesus Mohommad or whoever to be saved for eternity why is it that if one them is right then your chances of salvation are vastly influenced by where you are born and live. For example if you are born and live in the US chances are you'll be a Christian, so if Mohommad is on the money your chances of salvation are poor. Conversely if you are born and live in Saudi, chances are you'll follow Mohommad so if Jesus is on the money you won't be saved. And what about all the people in Asia who reject monotheism, are they all destined for eternal misery? The geographic distribution of followers can easily be explained in human terms, my question to followers of these religions is why would your God appear to favour one set of humans over another, based on their location?

If the message didn't reach you (if you didn't know about the prophet Muhammad...the Qur'an or the message reached you in a distorted way), you won't be asked about it i.e. you won't be "destined for eternal misery" for this. BUT this doesn't mean those who didn't hear about the message can do whatever they want without any judgment or make mischief in their societies as much as they want;
every human has a disposition to good (and has mind to use) and they will be judged according to this.God is The Just and The Most Merciful and "On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear." I just like to note that being Muslim doesn't save anyone as the issue is not only names being called or just acknowledging the one God or the messenger without any consideration for the behavior and the deeds. Anyway, the geographical aspect doesn't mean much nowadays after the internet and the global village thing...information age...etc.

Last week on a local news/interview program, they mentioned that 70% of the people on the planet have never heard a dial tone. Statistics like that give a different impression of the true pervasiveness of the "information age" than we tend to get while sitting in front of a computer. |
