Is There Any Significant Difference Between Belief in Deity and Belief in the IPU? (tradition, God)

I'm not sure of the history of the IPU, but I took it as figurative for anything that appears real to one person, but invisible to everyone else. Like an invisible friend.

In that way, it is both invisible and pink.

Both "God" and "the IPU" exist in idea-form, so the fundamental difference is in meaningfulness. Or you could say the significant difference is signficance, itself.

The difference, besides Deity being a reasonable inference, is that belief in GOD lends itself to coherence and rationale and mirrors the concept of Self in each of us, whereas the IPU is an incoherent, irrational and selfless (for a human being) parody.

The other difference is that if GOD did exist, He would not likely be as open to plain and ruthless ridicule as the IPU if It actually existed.

But with all the answers here, I would have to ask a question about the OP.
Belief in the IPU as a real god? Or belief in IPU as it is used mostly?
