I would first of like to state, sorry, for creating a topic I'm sure has been discussed many of times, but I was not around for the answers then.
But my general question: Can God create a rock so big that even he could not lift? If not, than this ruins an idea of the all power being believed to exsist in major monotheistic ideals. If so, then God when no longer be God once the rock was created, because then he would loser his all-powerful attribute, which would mean God is not a constant. And to say that God works outside our general logic sounds more like taking an easy way out of the question. Just wanted to get a few responses. Thank You. |

I don't believe that weight is a determinant in God's ability to lift.
That aside, if God could create a rock so heavy He could not lift, could He not later grant Himself the strength to lift said rock?

How should he have the power, for if he thus created the rock, would the rock not be more of a god than God himself? If God created this hypothetical situation, he would no longer have the power to give himself power over the rock. |

By breaking the rock in two and lifting the separate parts.

Clever answer.
I think I might have taken a wrong approach to this question. Let me start over if I may. Could God create a God greater than himself? |

God wouldn't need to lift a rock.
God would probably be able to divide himself up after he created the rock so that there are smaller portions of himself who individually cannot lift the rock...
