So, take a look at this video (it's a long one but worth it) and let's see the commenting begin!
YouTube - Should This Video Be Banned? YOU DECIDE! edit: I didn't realize it at first, as I hadn't watched it yet - watching it now - that this video is an excerpt from the movie Zeitgeist Last edited by Draka; 11-12-2007 at 03:45 PM. |

All basically true, which means Christians will do their level best to have it banned.

It's not "true," it's all drawn connections between irrelevant facts to lead you to draw conclusions that they want you to draw, by which of course I mean the conclusions "you draw" are not your own. It's the worst kind of insult to one's intellgence, and if you watch it again ask yourself this: "What does this fact actually tell me about the origin of religion?"

Satan will try to immitate the Son of God and the events surrounding his birth, life, death and resurrection. One thing he (Satan) or this person got wrong, on this video, and in his research, was Christ's birth date. Jesus Christ was born the first week in September. A well known stigmatist has confirmed the first week in September, Septemeber 5th, I think it was, as the exact date of his birth. I will look up the link and post it here. A certain stigmatist from Bosnia, her first name is Mryna, I can't remember her last name, experiences the birth pains Mary endured each year at this time (first week in September) and also experiences the pains of Christ's floggings, carrying the cross and crucifixion at the exact calendar day and hour each year in April.. December 25th is a Pagan holiday/winter solstace celebration, which later combined with the Christian celebration of Christ's birth.
Christ was born in September not December. Taxes were collected in the fall after the harvest... Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem for the census and to pay their taxes. Last edited by FFH; 11-13-2007 at 10:18 PM. |

Of course it shouldn't be banned; in fact, I find it so watchable that I want to watch the whole movie when I have time.
However, the movie -- or at least the part on youtube -- is a lot of crap. The etymologies given are nonsense. The details given about Horus are almost all simply false. The Three Kings, while part of Christian folklore, are nowhere mentioned in the Bible. Neither Myrrha nor Maya was a virgin mother. I don't even know what to make of somebody who maintains that "Bethlehem" is a reference to Virgo and not to the actual town of Bethlehem. As much nonsense as there is in Christianity, there's more in ten minutes of this movie. I look forward to watching the rest of it -- for entertainment, not for information.

The Zeitgeist is a movie containing 3 parts:
1) Argues that Christianity is formulated from earlier myths 2) Argues that 9/11 was a conspiracy 3) Argues that Kennedy's assassination was a conspiracy

OMG... if it makes ONE MORE REFERENCE to being banned, I am going to flag it for simply being obnoxious. Why is that some people are so hung up on themselves. "Na, na, na, na, you can't take the truth. You're gonna ban me aren't you?" Oh the drama! What ever message that might have been there was lost amidst the stunning paranoia.
Here in lies the problem with most of these vacuous conspiracy theories. Notice the fixation with December 25... The date is NOT in the Bible. How about Sirius and the three Kings. This is OBVIOUSLY a Harry Potter reference. Don't believe me? He, of three little kings, was the ruler. He didn't have the popularity of James nor the charisma of Sirius, but he had the true heart of a leader who cared from harrypotterfanfiction.com :: Over 44,000 Harry Potter stories.. Just google sirius three kings and you can find these amazing co-inky-dinkies too! Hey, Harry was killed and then resurrected!Where are all the conspiracy theories about this? Now how about the phony astrological crappola. I could find no other reference to the sirius/three kings except from the Zeitgiest reference. There are three stars that ALMOST point to sirius: Orion's belt. They weren't known as the Three Kings until the Middle Ages. Whooops! The Harry Potter reference is sounding more plausible all the time. More amazing is: THEY AREN'T REALLY IN LINE. Go figure that one! Sirius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
