That's not what the quote means. It doesn't mean muslims cannot have a sense of humor or have times where they are relaxed and having enjoyment. The quote meant that iman is to be taken seriously, not something that can be played about. It is serious at all times about what a muslim believes in his/her heart and to safegaurd their iman all the time. Islam is about striking a balance for all that a muslim does, even striking a balance with the worship as well. The prophet did warn us of going to any extreme and to stay a moderate course for all things including our Islam. |

If you recite the Shadadah and then recant it isn't that worthy of death now and hell fire for eternity?
Someone should help save his soul from that hell or leave it up to God. |

I can understand a critique of NoI that compares it to normative Islam. I'm well aware there are elements of NoI that appear to be very much in conflict with the Qu'ran. However, I don't see how bandying terms like "cult" about do much to make your point, unless the point is to appear somewhat trollish. ![]() |

If Khomeini were still alive, I'm sure he would say the same thing about your beliefs.

I'm not a "Farrakhani", and it's totally up to you to decide what your definition of "real Islam" is. NOI is to Islam what Mormonism is to Christianity, afaic.
"Black Nationalism" was extremely relevent at the time when the USA was a White racist nation...seperation was seen as needed so Black people could have their own government, and wouldn't be under the power of oppressive white people. It helped a lot of people, spiritually, economically, politically. It should be taken as a religion from that context, and it's best to consider it as almost political movement with religious overtones. I don't know where you got your information about NOI, but they do uphold the five pillars...their interpretations might be different but I KNOW they pray five times a day, for example. I think the major difference is definitely the idea of God Incarnate and the final prophecy. No one thinks Farkarran represents Islam either, so you know. They do tend to think of people like Osama bin Laden when they think of Islam, but I suppose you don't have a problem with that, so ok. Quote:
