Sensory input (i.e. emotional reaction, visual and tangible clues), meaningful rationale (i.e. analysis of behaviorial clues), input from others (i.e. behavioral reactions, witness testamony) etc.

What's happened?

The daughter of the scenario knows that the scenario did indeed happen. Even though there is no evidence.

But surely if you are pacing you have evidenced for yourself that you are pacing. I'm quite sure that evidence must exist.

I would have no evidence to show you that I paced if you were to ask for it.
