>You don't know; you only believe.
In fact, the Baha'i scriptures state explicitly, "Faith is conscious knowledge!" Peace, Bruce |

Every single thing the scientists discover is another clue to how God works but you have no means of knowing what they are saying either so you try to squeeze us all into your tiny little box because you are afraid of being the only one who doesn't understand it all. |

I don't think God is totally unknown.

Jesus. True, there are many parts of God that will remain unknown as our feeble minds cannot fully comprehend him. But not only did Jesus come as a sacrifice, I believe he came to give us a glimpse of the character of God.

But we don't even know if Jesus was correctly reported or was anymore than human!

The truth is, we don't know anything for sure. Even with evidence, there is room for doubt. A jury only needs to be reasonably sure in a trial. If were 100% sure about anything, most people would not have so many different beliefs about it.
We even doubt the news on TV. The only thing I don't have any doubt of is something I see with my own eyes, and even then my eyes could deceive me. So with all due respect, everyone is making assumptions.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how one would go about presenting evidence of something that's only known through it's effect on other things.
I mean; say we were a colony of worms living in a mound of dirt with some vague rememberance of a few other worms who had wandered up into the upper layers of the mound and came back raving about something called "the sun", what evidence could we possibly have that they we're telling the truth? Worms being blind and all it's not like we could trust their descriptions of this thing, even if they were able to describe it, over and above whatever warmth they had felt in it's presence, or whatever warmth we feel in theirs.
