Thanks. I should clarify one thing though (hopefully you won't want the frubal back). I understand it to mean that we can awaken to a unity or oneness with God as reflected in the sayings of Jesus in the Gospel stories, and the writings of Paul. It's an important distinction because I have no idea whether then events in the Gospel stories actually happened, or if the person depicted as Jesus is based on a real person, and if so, how much is actually from the life and teachings of that person. I assume that the majority of the story is allegorical fiction or mythology. So it's not by becoming one with Jesus that I become one with God. I become One with God in the same way that Jesus in the Gospels becomes one with God through the opening of a new way of seeing himself in relation to otherness.
In short, it makes no difference whether there even was a Jesus, nor whether he actually did or said any of the things recorded in the various stories about him. One of the reasons that is significant to me is that if the truth of the Christian message depends on the belief in the literal occurrence of this one historical manifestation, it cheapens the mythologies of other cultures and inhibits my ability to see the truth expressed in the language and symbolism of other cultures and by other people. In other words, it interferes with Tillich's first duty of love: listening.

< that's a really angry alien.Ok, Lorelei.....I think I finally understand your definition of the KOG. Great job and I must say if I was still a Christian, I would agree with you 100%.Except, do you see there is ONE rather large difference between the here and now KOG and the future KOG besides the blinding veils being lifted?
