My short answer: Great good fortune! :-)
My specific answer: As a result of extensive prayer, reading, research, investigation, and evaluation!
Since coupled with over 36 years' experience during which I have NOT ONCE found any reason to regret my decision!
Simple as that.
Peace, :-)

Prayer requires belief.
I believed what I was taught until I reached the age of thirteen when I started to question everything including my own existence. Somewhere along the line I decided to believe until I found enough evidence to believe otherwise. When I was 17 I did not believe that babies were sinful. Later I had children of my own and discovered children have no concept of right or wrong. I told my daughter not to touch a hot burner on the stove because it would burn her but she did it anyway. Experience is a great teacher but we save ourselves a lot of grief if we don't have to experience bad things.
My wife tried to read the Bible after receiving Jesus but she couldn't understand it so she stopped. She believes that God will take care of her but that does not absolve her of the need to avoid sin because the wages are death. Right now she is in a great deal of pain and I believe it is because her past sins have caught up with her.
