What happens to the soul when a person receives an organ transplant?

Is the soul of the donor a part of the organ, because that part of the person is still alive, or does the new organ get the soul of the person that gets the organ?

The soul has no physical existence (assuming there is one, natch) but rather is attached to the body during physical life. At death it separates.

Why would the soul be attached to an organ as opposed to the wider physical being?

Interesting question, though.

The soul is the entity that results from a spirit entering a physical body at birth. An organ transplant wouldn't affect it in the slightest.

However there has been some speculation that some of our brains activity is somehow taking place in our whole nervous system... in that case some "Data" might be transferred.
