No, of course we shouldn't stone people. No one is suggesting that. But I definitely think there should be penalties for some types of sexual behavior, regardless of whether it is consensual or not.

Maybe it's just me but if my husband committed adultery, the last place I'd want to end up is in court listening to some judge mete out his penalty for being a bad boy. I certainly wouldn't want the world knowing our private business. Believe me, I'd take care of him myself!

I see your point. I was just thinking along the lines of how maybe a penalty would help deter men from being bad boys in the first place. Make them think twice before they spread their love around.

As it happens I considered that quite thoroughly. About 30 years ago. When studying comparative religions at the college level. I haven't encountered any new information since then that would overturn the conclusions I reached back then.

You know, our courts are overrun as it is trying to take care of actual criminal behavior, I'd hate to see more delays because Judge Judy takes up court time to slap naughty Mr. Smith for sharing Mr. Winkie, ya know?

When I got married to Rick we decided what was acceptable behavior concerning the opposite sex...and sexual contact with someone other than each other is off limits. I'd like to keep the courts out of my sex life.

Only for consenting adults who agree to all of their rules and who may cancel membership at any time.

And yes, that means I do have a real problem with conservative churches' telling adolescents to "save sex until marriage."
