so why did he go to the trouble of telling eve that she would not die if she eat the fruit , he made it appear to be a good thing to eat the fruit ,but really he was getting them to go against the true God and his commands, things are not always what they appear to be . that is how satan works a lot of the time, he does not always do things to scare us off he is more clever than that at times, and this getting us to believe that our dead loved ones are still alive somewhere is all part of the first lie told to eve ,that lie is that we will not die and this is just one of many things that satan uses to keep the lie going. and yes people have got to believing the lie . when we are dead we are dead, back to the dust we go . but the promise from the bible is that at a future time God will resurrect us ,back to a paradise earth. but until that time we go to dust , so we are not alive somewhere it is the tricks of satan .

its no big deal for satan to decieve people , it may look like the actual person but really it is satan with his great big lies again. and people get to believing those lies , yes he really is the great deciever. that is why the bible warns us to not go to the spirit mediums, just because it appears to be true does not make it true. really it is satan .

What about when Saul went to the Witch of Endor? Also, it was not Satan, but it was my actual relatives.

Not only is this untrue, as the experiences I mentioned were the actual person, thus not an evil immitation. Also look towards your own Bible to see how this is not always the case. I forget the names, but the King of Israel at the time went to witch to summon the spirit of the prophet. The actual prophet came and foretold the king of his death.

I was actually thinking of that before but didn't write it, it was Saul who went to the witch of Endor to talk to Samuel. But the prophets answer was "why are you asking me if God won't answer you anymore." (paraphrase) Even though he got to talk to Samuel there is no help apart from God and he was still worse off afterwards.

Sadly, many turn to Satan, not to Jehovah. No, they do not invoke Satan by name. Rather, like King Saul of old, they engage in spiritism, looking for answers to their problems by trying to communicate with the dead.—1 Samuel 28:1-20. doing things out of line with the true God is not the way to go . just because the bible tells us that saul went to the spirit medium does not make it right in the eyes of the true God. yes satan is behind it all ,he is the great deciever.

I havent checked this thread for ages..... The difference being in that example - God told Eve not to eat the fruit and so Satan coming along and saying eat it and nothing will happen is obviously a lie! He is doing it to get them to disobey God - yes. But it doesnt answer the point why would he pretend to be a loved one? That is not disobeying God as I dont think God has said anywhere that they are evil etc?

I don't have any doubt that you can in fact summon spirits, but I doubt that you ever gained any kind of powers to be able to not worry about what happened when you died as you said in another thread. Really to God the spirits are not any more powerful than we are, what the diffrence between 1 and infinity compared with 100 and infinity. But God will judge us and them for the things that we have done.
