yeah, i don't think that it is off topic though. like i said in a previous post, the debates that we can see in this thread between C's and P's highlights exactly why there are hostilities between our two communities, which was the topic of the OP

i did not go to to stay with these people to feel like i had travelled back to 500yrs ago to the burning times to feel i was being forced to walk away with what i believe in. one of the rules of being a pagan is not to force your views on other people and that what stopped me replying back about what i believe in.

so my question is why is there so much friction between christianity and wicca
because most of them refuse to believe that anything outside of their beliefs especially pagan/neo-pagan religions could be good. their minds are already tainted with the depiction the bible gives of witches which is what we often refer ourselves as. they think that we associate ourselves with the devil when in truth we dont even believe in satan. but they wont listen, they refuse to so they remain misinformed. of course they arent all like that. i've had the pleasure of meating christians who are understanding and tolerate the different. i applaud you for what you were able to endure

Unless the knowledge could prove dangerous, I see no need for private debate. It is off topic so if you really want to do this start a new thread.

I fail to see the reason for your aggravation. Most people need a reson to believe. When I became old enough to start questioning my religious beliefs, I needed a reason to believe not just because someone told me so. However if you choose to live in fantasy or simply accept what you feel like believing that is a choice you will have to live with.

The Bible says that rebellion is like witchcraft. If witchcraft can be seen as an attempt to co-opt God's power then it is definitely rebellion against God. A Christian might perform a powerful act but it is with the authority and power of God behind it.

However, it is not Christianity to be hostile towards a person in such a state. Our obligation is to love as God loves and let God take care of whatever judgement He wishes to make on the rebellious.

Bible also says do not suffer a witch to live, though i can't remember which book, chapter and verse it is in.
