If we do not learn about God and God’s rules then we can be so taken up with the material world and become totally body-conscious. We will forget our true nature which is spirit. We will have no time for God. That is why God gave us divine knowledge through the saints and sages and why he sent prophets throughout time. If we do not have reminders about God then we will have no time for God. Think about it. If God is not on our minds, we will only call on God when we have problems and this should not be so. We should also thank God everyday for life. First thing in the morning we should thank God for letting us live to see another day. Many people did not get up this morning.

TehuTi, I do not feel disrespected. It is true that religion is a practice. To me it is a way of life. It is true that many people feel that their religion is the only way to God. However, not everyone is like that. There are many people on RF who are open about all religions. If you real think about it, it is not really religious teachings that make people like that, it is really human ego. Ego which makes people think that – my way is better than yours. Therefore, the fault is with the person who thinks like this, not religion itself. I agree that many people have this ego and I am not a Saint, but I try to see God in all religions. Many people on RF are very open-minded. Just give them a chance and you will see.
