Default Did you find religion or did religion find you?

Do you feel through religion it help define who you were as a person?

Or did you find yourself first and then you religion followed?

Or are you on a constant quest for self and religion?

I can't say that I went searching for God, but now I can't stop. My beliefs and understanding are constantly evolving and I love it!

I went searching for what I thought to be God, only to find that it wasn't. God found me.

I'm on a constant quest for self, but I feel that my faith helps to put things into perspective sometimes, which is good. It challenges me and helps me be more honest with myself.

I was/am brought up as my parents wanted me to. The morals and values they put in me are what i believe of god and my view on my religion

I kissed off religion many years ago as a distasteful and unsatisfying substitute for the real deal, which in my case happens to be a personal relationship with my creator and redeemer.

'religion' imo is a manmade institution, and I don't believe Jesus respected religiosity much at all.

All different answers nice to see. I had to find myself first before I could find sprituality within.

Religion neither defines me nor takes up much part of my life. I look at religion as a way of giving balance to where we came from and where we are going. Since I do not believe that I am anything more than an insignificant blip in the history of man, I neither feel that I can affect my SPIRITUAL place in this world, nor my lot in the afterlife if there is one.

It is a rather ambivolent look at it, but my general feeling is that there are a whole lot of people who waste precious time in worrying or obsessing over that which may not be under their control. Thus, for me, religion serves as a means of providing my kids a faith structure to follow should they choose to. For me it serves to provide a conduit to a group of people I have grown close to and it fills a social void more than anything else.

The above reasons are mainly why I choose not to push my faith on anyone else nor give it any more than a little bit of my attention.

That is a very honest answer and I don't see anything wrong with it. We all have different views and needs Fatman. Thanks.
