Is it possible to have a conversation with God? By "conversation", I mean a two-way conversation. If so, how? If not, why not?
Please note: I'm not terribly interested here in gathering opinions that it is impossible to have a two way conversation with God because God does not exist. If you absolutely feel a deep and abiding compulsion to state such an opinion, then have at it. But I think everyone is already well aware of that POV, and while it's a legitimate POV, it would be practically trivial here.

Yes, read the Celestine Prophecy on how to see coincidences in your life.
Then ask clear questions and see what turns up, i have had near impossible coincidences like this to reaffirm things i have asked God and am unsure on, they will keep reoccurring in events that i have had no control over, yet appear to answer the question.

It is possible to have the perception of a conversation with God.
Is there a any difference between believing I talk with God and that "he" talks back and actually carrying on a conversation with a consciousness outside my own? To the person experiencing it, they are one and the same.

Without sounding Schizophrenic, once in my life this has happened clear as day, where God spoke to me, yet that was also including all of heaven and spoke through the whole of reality, every bird and breeze were as one and spoke in unison with the centre voice of God.
Now most people if they had that happen would go off on one and start telling everyone, which is why the Schizophrenic point to start, as no one believes you anyway. Yet it does happen! ![]()

Assuming God exists and you can have a nice chat with him, i'm not sure he'd have anything terribly interesting to say. Most people would ask questions like "what is the meaning of life", not realising the question, not the answer, drives us.
Its like a magic trick. The illusion amazes you. The secret takes the wonder away. And whats life without a little wonder? |

Actually, are conversations with God necessarily personal revelations or is there reason to believe they can be public experiences?
