![]() As most of know and have read, our founding fathers were deists (for the most part). This photo mixes secularism (which is how our government is supposed to be run) along with religion. Does this bother anyone else? What do you think it is portraying to the general public? |

I don't see any religious imagery. I see an attempt to imply that Abraham Lincoln and George Washington would be supporting Bush if they were alive. I think the image is nothing more than overt political propaganda. I do see a sort of cross centered on Bush's head, like some sort of saint's halo in a medieval painting, which is even more absurd.

I don't have any idea what it portrays to an American.
It makes me shudder and feel a little sick.

I find it insulting and the worst form of propaganda.
As far as I'm concerned, as propaganda it's right there on a par with Hitler astride a horse invoking the symbolism of the Templars. ![]() |

I think it looks pretty hilarious! They all look ashamed of themselves!

I think it's a pathetic way to get people back on Bush's side by saying that he has some great presidents approval and support.

AHH! Not again!
Seriously, I saw this painting being sold in a Christian store. My mom (who is a Christian) saw it and said essentially implied that Lincoln and Washington would beat the crap out of Bush if they were alive today. To me, it's extremely propagandistic, and I would think even the most ardently Bush-supporting Christians would find the super-imposing of a cross behind Bush, which makes him look like some sort of messiah himself, to be sacreligious. But then again, considering how some people still are absolutely insistent that he can do no wrong, maybe not.
