That's the problem with the logic of the article. The majority of the population in Salt Lake isn't LDS. Salt Lake is less than 50% Mormon. The logic could just as easily conclude that all those non-Mormons don't have enough people to have sex with (due to Mormons being so true to their religion) so they're turning to the Internet to fulfill their needs.

then you have to look at a fact that only about 70% of the lds faith is active inside the church... by the time the lds graduate high school about 60% of them has been exposed by some for of sexual relations anything from pornography to tv sex. the church is fighting the issue head on, more so, this year is a huge push against pornography and healthy sexual relationships, though workshops, church programs, and instruction in reliefsociety and elders quorums... this is a huge issue that can lead to sexual crimes and premarital sex, which lead to abortion in some cases, also because about 95% (a new study) of Americans now have sex before marriage, sexual transmuted diseases are on the rise...

and it dose not surprise me one bit that the salt lake city has these statistic that high or even Utah to me it makes since if we are doing good then evil will follow, because evil will want to destroy good...

It correlates well to a study Barma published about evangelical women. Thirty-three percent visited porn sites. About the same number of pastors, in another study, reported the same type of visitations.

How does it correlate well? The study says absolutely nothing about the religious preference of those searching on Google.

You are not saying that only the non-LDS are doing the search in Salt Lake City, are you? I strongly there is no credibilty in that assumption. So it is only a matter of what percentage of LDS do search for the terms mentioned. What would be your estimation?

I'm not saying anything except this entire article and argument is seriously flawed. The author draws a conclusion that is complete B.S. I wouldn't even begin to estimate what percentage of LDS search for pornography. I'd bet that a decent percentage of the searches are coming from Mormons, but I can't do anything other than "bet" on it. There is ZERO data. Also, who can say the intention of the person doing the search. Certainly, searches for "naked girls", "nudity", and "strip tease" have obvious intentions, but the term "pornography" could be used as a search term for a variety of reasons. I find it interesting that Salt Lake makes the list with "pornography" but not with "porn".

Also, Provo, UT (a city that is much more LDS (and sexually repressed) than Salt Lake) is #1 for the term "Jesus Christ" (Salt Lake is #2). Provo doesn't even make the list for the other terms mentioned in this article. If the authors conclusion were correct, I'd expect to see Provo on the list also.

By the way, after Salt Lake the next top two cities are in Virginia. Are we to draw the conclusion that the people in Virginia are also sexually repressed from this data? I wouldn't.
