LDS- Dark skin is a curse? (salvation, hell, doctrine, church)

DARK SKIN DOES NOT EQUAL CURSE.

I have to put the kids to bed, but I'll come back and talk about this common misconception.

For the record, the LDS church is in over 120 countries and is speaking many different languages. We are not racist. We welcome all.

I wouldn't say that the LDS church teaches this now. It was taught in the past and there are scriptures that could be interpreted this way, but I believe that most members of the church today are uncomfortable with this idea and probably put it into the category of "I don't completely understand this concept."

Since it isn't important to my salvation and if there was a curse it is no more, I don't think about it much at all. I have had some interesting discussions on the topic though.

I think that you're both talking around the subject. If there was a curse, the curse wasn't the dark skin, but the dark skin would have been a sign of the curse. I don't know whether that's the case though.
