If Muslims Renounce Islam (America, experience, faith, Christianity, Christian)

This question is for Muslims and those of other faiths/not-faiths:

Scenario: A practicing Muslim becomes a questioning Muslim who decides to explore other options. This individual decides to convert to Christianity.

For Muslims: What are the consequences of renouncing Islam?
This should be a three part question I guess.
A. What does the Koran say?
B. What do you say?
C. What is the consequence of Muslim apostasy in real life in the real community of the Muslim faith, as you have observed or experienced it?


For others: What are your personal perceptions of the tolerance of the Muslim religion for its apostates?

I believe in tolerance of others, but not tolerance of other God's.

Not saying we should kill or harm other religious people, just stand up for the truth.

A. The Koran says there is no compulsion in religion.

B. I think anyone who would convert to another religion is a traitor. I wouldn't advocate their persecution, but they wouldn't be welcome at my dinner table anymore. Outside of my own community, I couldn't care less what people convert to or from.

C. The issue rarely comes up in Bosnia, where - if you're Muslim - it's your national identity. It would be like asking an African American to "convert" to being a Chinese American.

I've been told by Muslims that this person should be killed.... called the person a "kafir" or something like that and said in a Muslim country this person could be killed by any Muslim on sight and it would be legal.

I'm glad to see by Djamila's reply that this is not the norm.

Before I talk about the question of why apostatized from Islam kills
Why apostatized from Islam?

I will be realistic and no resile from Islam one

But only two

1/ Ignorant Islam believes symbols
2/ Betrayed Islam for the money and life

First person
1/ knowing they understand and know the real Islam
2/ They ask him return three times that not because of Islam,it kills it Traitor

The beauty of Islam as tought in the Koran is that it teaches that even Jews and Christians can inherit eternal life..... so I can't see why Muslims would condemn a person for changing how that person loves God... as long as they still believe in God and the Last Day and do righteous deeds this person will never have to fear God.

how would any religions that sees itself as being the only truth stand up for that truth without hurting others? or is a certain amount of harm justified? how would you define harm in this context?
