You're quite welcome. I note that "he" insists he's not male on that other thread, and I failed to find where you discovered his first name. Have you had other encounters with this netizen? May I presume that you came here after searching the net for more of his fraud? I found "Daughters of Frya" to be surprising widely referenced as a legitimate religion in a google search.

At any rate, we're glad to welcome you as a new member if you'd like to hang around. I personally am glad to see someone with the skepticism and skill to google effectively! Check out the New Members thread and introduce yourself.

Since I first posted here, I've discovered there may be other people involved in the Frya mess. Current posts at this forum seem to indicate the "religion" may have a few adherents in the States...or at least people claiming to be adherents and wearing the "uniform":

http:/tinyurl.com/2nazcn (add second slash)

But I'm pretty sure the whole thing started with Tony Steele, a UK author who engages in a lot of dubious speculation about things like Atlantis and The Lord of the Rings being an alternate history of the world (I wish I were kidding--click on the link in his signature in the post below):

http:/ww.ecauldron.net/ab/index.php?webtag=CAULDRON&msg=7670.235 (note the ever-present Angelfire pages)
Tony came to the Cauldron and apologized for the behavior of Syrhed who I believe, based on writing style, is the same person who's been posting on your forum:

http:/ww.ecauldron.net/ab/index.php?webtag=CAULDRON&msg=6514.1 (slash & w)

Tony's connection is illustrated here:

http:/ww.coven-of-cythrawl.com/traditional_witchcraft.htm

Folks from the current incarnation of the Ordo Anno Mundi claim they're no longer affiliated with Tony, but I couldn't tell you whether or not this is true.

In all honesty, it's impossible to tease the truth out of any of the people claiming affiliation with the Daughters, but I don't trust any of it because of my past experience. There may be a few folks practicing or approximating the religion, but they don't constitute a religious "movement" by any stretch.

I came here because I noticed the DoF website was active again and started Gooling a few of the new keywords they seem to be using. Like a mushroom, it just keeps popping up.

It's easy enough to register yourself at places like The Witch's Voice (witchvox.com), Wikipedia, and About.com. Such listings are rarely taken down unless challenged. And the funny thing is, I never cared one way or the other about the Daughters or their alleged relgion (and I did know about it...just didn't care) until she/they/he attempted to hoax a forum full of folks I care about.

I'm a deeply spiritual gal who's also deeply skeptical. It seems the two are mutually exclusive on many spirituality boards. Nice to know this one's different. I shall post my intro soon. Can't wait to be able to post complete URLs!
