Reincarnation?
Was there reincarnation in early Christianity? I'm not asking whether it is right or wrong. I also understand that this is not orthodox teaching, nor suggesting that it ever was. But can we actually cancel out the possibility that differing sects didn't subscribe to this belief? This of course would be attributed to before unifying the church.

In my opinion, that Jesus was mistaken for the dead John the Baptist by Herod and for the OT prophet Elijah indicates that the early churches did have issues with something like reincarnation.

Couldn't the parousia be understood as a type of reincarnation -- Jesus reappearing bodily?

I've always had this problem with reincarnation !!..I mean ...where do all the extra people come from then if we are all reincarnated ? me would like to know cos me wants to know !!
